All About Me, Cece Marie
Hello! I am Cece, the girl behind this little cottage business, All Dolled Up by Cece Marie. I make one of a kind aprons, skirts, tote bags, and original artwork, and my husband Richard handles the photography and this delightful website he has made for me. So it truly is a family business! We live in a cozy house on a hill in a small seaside town in Northern California, with flower filled window boxes and a meandering rose garden. Our pups, Poppy Flower and Ginger, keep me company in my little home studio.
I have a degree in Fashion Design from FIDM in San Francisco. I have worked for some great female designers in the SF Bay Area, which has been really inspiring. To learn more about my background please visit My Story.
I love to sew and create things from vintage fabric and trims and I started selling my creations in April of 2006. I’m really enjoying the creative process and cultivating my artistic point of view. Ideally, I like to spend my days drawing, sewing, and creating. When home I can usually be found in a cotton dress, apron, ballet slippers, ponytail, and carrying a cup of tea, probably my fourth or fifth cup of the day.
I love bunnies with floppy ears, puppies with long tails, cotton gingham dresses, tea parties, candlelight, bicycles with wicker baskets, the sound of my Grammy playing piano, the smell of Mom’s pumpkin bread, wild flowers, and country stores, especially the kind with apples in crates and candy in big glass jars. Oh, and I really like cardigans with pearl buttons and rose perfume.
The name All Dolled Up came about when Richard would proclaim, “Hey, you’re all dolled up!” as I would come down the stairs in a dress sprinkled in cabbage roses or a gingham skirt and ballet top. You see ladies, I am a girlie girl at heart. I have so much fun getting “all dolled up!” I mean why not? Why wait for a special occasion; after all life is really special and it is so much for fun when you are All Dolled Up!
